Sleaford sports retailer Total Sports and Supplements fielded a team of runners in the Man vs Mountain event in Wales.

The team took on the epic 20-mile challenge of running up and over Mountain Snowdon, which turned out to be more than 22 miles.

The team of David ‘Titch’ Marshall, Julie Spencer (Titanium Fitness), Steve Spencer, Phil Henton, John Crust, Tania Addlesea, Chris Hodgson, Rob Stuart, Erika Stuart, with Support crew Kerry-Anne Marshall, started off in the stunning grounds of Caernarfon Castle and headed straight into a hilly run with more than 500m of climbing before hitting the foothills of Snowdon.

Continuing with more than 1,200 other participants to the summit of Snowdon, hit after 13 miles, they took in the amazing views on the clear sunny day before heading into the fast downhill towards the finish.

However, as with all Rat Race events there is always a twist in the tail before reaching the finish.

Just when the team thought the day’s climbing was completed, they faced a near vertical strength-sapping 1km climb, followed by an abseil off a railway bridge, before entering the Dinorwic Quarrys with more obstacles, jumps, freezing lake swims and various high walls to scale, before finally crossing the finish line where dry clothes were waiting.
