Sleaford Town Bowls Club wins three out of five

Sleaford Town Bowls Club played five league matches this week, winning three of them.

Away at Nettleham in the ASC Metals League, two rink wins and a draw gave Sleaford the aggregate score 49-44 and nine points.

Results: Ruth Bird, Joan Gilbert and Bas Gilbert won 18-15; Pete Annison, Gill Annison and Neil Mapletoft won 15-13; Larry Davies, Linda Morris and Kris Moore drew 16-16.

Sleaford kept their unbeaten record in the city league at Moorlands Railway, winning 87-83.

Results: Martin Titley, Neil Mapletoft and Phil Musson won 26-14; Pete Annison, Peter Stokes and Paul Jobson won 28-21; Kris Moore, Larry Davies and Andrew Bird lost 14-24; John Parker, Roger Neaverson and Derek Smith lost 19-25.

Away at Thorpe-on-the-Hill in the Jubilee Cup, Sleaford lost by five shots 75-80.

Peter Annison lost in the singles 24-26; in the doubles, Mick Wareham and Bas Gilbert won 25-17; the trebles set of Joan Gilbert, Catherine Frain and Roy Markham lost 14-21; the fours set of Gerald Woodhead David Curt Colin Grosse and B Srawley lost 12-16.

Sleaford won 77-22 at Cranwell in the in the Woodhall Spa afternoon league.

Results: Peter Annison, Gill Annison and Tom Bell won 23-7; Robin Wilson, David Curt and Bas Gilbert won 29-6; Colin Grosse, Larry Davies and Mick Wareham won 25—9.

Cranwell visited the town in the Sleaford League and got their revenge by winning on two rinks, 61-74.

Results: Gerald Woodhead, M. Jarald and Mick Wareham lost 15-18; Lewis Jobson, Steve Morris and Ken Dye lost 7-29; Pete Annison, Roger Neaverson and Colin Grosse won 19-15; Jackie Wareham, Peter Stokes and Bas Gilbert won 20—12.
