Try spree brings fourth win in row

Spalding Under 15s 0

Sleaford Under 15s 55

A try by full back Josh Watts, who also converted, gave Sleaford a 7-0 lead after early pressure from Spalding.

Sleaford were having huge success with the scrum and their second score came from an under pressure scrum, with the resultant ball passed down the backs before Bradley Roberts went over in the corner.

A charge down by Alec Williamson was collected by Oliver Brown, who touched down to make it 17-0.

Immediately from the kick off. Roberts made great yardage down the left before setting up Miloe Williamson for the fourth try. Watts conversion extended Sleaford’s lead to 24 points.

After the break, Roberts added his second try of the day after good work by Elliott Bero, Ryan Scigala, Matthew Stainsby and Watts.

Then the Sleaford forwards set up Williamson for his second try, converted by Ben Hitchcock.

Harry Barr went over for try number seven. Another kick by Hitchcock took the score to 43-0.

Roberts completed his hat-trick and Scigala claimed the final score of the day after some good play by the backs, completing a 55-0 victory for Sleaford.

Sleaford Under 17s 24

Matlock Under 17s 24

Sleaford made a number of enforced positional changes due to injury.

Ian Bishop, playing at scrum half rather than his usual outside centre role, scored a terrific individual try to open the scoring.

Ben Borrill added a second try after good work by Swan, Bishop, Ireland and Peek.

In virtually their first foray into the Red and Blacks’ half Matlock scored a runaway try under the posts and then tied the game at 12-12 going in at half time from a well planned set move at a lineout.

A quickly taken penalty gave Callum Thomson the chance to go over in the corner to restore Sleaford’s lead but Matlock hit back, outflanking the home defence to go over in the corner.

A try in the corner saw Matlock take the lead with a couple of minutes to go but Sleaford immediately hit back, with Bishop going over for the equalising try.
