Boston U12s 15 – 30 Sleaford U12s

Sleaford had not played Boston at this age group for many years and sportingly gave Boston a player to even the game, split over two 20 minute halves.

Sleaford were dominant from the off making some decisive runs and winning the scrums. Boston were resolute and kept Sleaford from crossing the try line for the first five minutes, but Sleaford’s passing game won out as a great move along the line gave a chance to go 5-0 up.

From the restart Sleaford knocked on and Boston playing the advantage got close to scoring, thwarted by fantastic team defence. As Sleaford kicked clear and chased it down Boston made a few errors and in the end another strong run allowed Sleaford to score their second try.

From the restart Sleaford were up in the Boston half and again got another great try and looked like they were going to run away with it as the ref blew for half time.

The second half brought in some wholesale changes as Boston ran in an easy try as Sleaford missed tackles.

Boston were a different team in the second half as they finished some great passing and good ball skills to score again.

Sleaford then started to play and control the game by winning the line outs, scrum and doing the simple things well. After two tries denied it was third time lucky to go 20-10 up.

Then in a four pass move from a scrum on the half way line another try made it 25-10 to Sleaford.

One more try each ended with a Sleaford win 30-15.
