Former England player Matthew Tait heads to Sleaford RFC on Sunday to crown the club ‘Pride of the Midlands’ after a nationwide search by NatWest and the RFU to find the best supported grassroots rugby clubs in England.
Matthew has 38 England caps and has enjoyed a cracking season with Leicester Tigers this year. He will be hosting a question and answer session, playing a little touch rugby and will be happy to sign autographs and pose for photos. He will be at the club from 11am till 3pm on Sunday.
It is all part of the NatWest RugbyForce weekend which Sleaford RFC are using to spruce up the club and grounds, with painting, DIY, grass cutting, tree chopping and litter picking.
Running from 9am to 5pm on both Saturday and Sunday, each day volunteers will be given a free T-shirt and breakfast before work commences. A barbecue lunch will be followed by some touch rugby, before work continues until the end of the day when more touch rugby is on offer.
