GOLF: Annibal triumphs in South Kyme ladies' medal competitions

The winner of the ladies’ EWGA July Sunday Medal was Sue Annibal with a 76 net. Runner-up was Sue Roberts with 78 and in third place was Helen Kirschner with 80.

The Tuesday medal was also won by Sue Annibal with a net 76, beating Sue Roberts on countback, with Sandra Lee third on 78. Sue Annibal won the aggregate points.

The July Stableford was won by Anne Clayton with 36 points. Second was Helen Kirschner with 32 and Sue Roberts (31) was third.

The friendly match played at home against Sandilands Ladies was won 3&1 by the visitors.

South Kyme ladies’ return league match at Burghley Park was won by the home team. The return match at Carholme Park was also a win for the homesters.

The Cook Shield was played as a mixed Greensomes Stableford with the senior section and was won by lady captain Sue Duncan and David Tasker with 41 points. Runner-up in second place were Elaine Loweth and Paul Eales on 37, on a countback from Sue Annibal and Ray Duncan.

The Williams Trophy, also a Greensomes Stableford with pairings of high/low handicaps, was won by Jane Coleman and Elaine Loweth with 36 points. Second were Sue Roberts and Helen Kirschner with 33 on a countback from Heather Dopierala and Shirley Westlake.

The Cutting Cupboard Strokeplay Qualifier was won by Sue Annibal with net 72, ahead of runner-up Paula Young (73), on countback from Sue Roberts.

The mixed section’s roll-up was drawn for partners with runaway winners being Graham Campbell, Neil Macey and Geoff Annibal. Runners-up were Sue Annibal, Alan Cowie and Pete Zammit, whilst in third were Sue Roberts, Mel Macey and Len Westlake.

The second roll-up of the month was played in perfect weather conditions and won by Sue and Paul Roberts with 46 points. In second place were Sue and Geoff Annibal, ahead of Liz and Alan Jude in third with 43.
