GOLF: South Kyme ladies in close fight

South Kyme ladies' May EWGA Monthly Medal saw a big turnout and it was a closely fought game.

Jane Coleman won with 77 points, with Anne Clayton second on 79 pts. In third place was lady captain Sue Duncan with 80.

The Tuesday Medal saw Anne Clayton on winning form with 79 points. Runner-up was Sue Duncan whilst Helen Kirschner was third, with Jane winning the points with the highest aggregate score.

Sandra Lee came back from injury to win the Monthly Stableford, ahead of Elaine Loweth and Anne Barnham

This year’s Ping Qualifiers are Sue Annibal and Myra Le Sage. Runners-up were Jane Barlow and Helen Kirschner. Sue and Myra now have to wait to see if the score was good enough to qualify for the finals at Gainsborough in September.

The ladies played their annual game against Pottergate Ladies on home ground, with the game ending a friendly half.

The very popular Mixed Section played their monthly roll-up, with the team of Neale and Mel Macey and Ray Duncan taking the honours.

In perfect playing conditions, this year’s Rabbit’s Open was won by Ed Bowers, Colin Banister, David Taylor and Mark Walker – The Heckington Holers – on a countback, playing eight under par with a score of 136.
