THERE was a full programme of sporting entertainment over the weekend at this year’s Heckington Show.

On Saturday the morning kicked off with the annual 10 mile road race and was followed by children’srunning races and cycling before teh adults returned for the traditional cycle racing.

The traditional Devil Take The Hindmost event is always popular among spectators in the grandstand picking off the last rider each lap.

ON Sunday it was the turn of showjumping, hoping to emulate the likes of Olympic silver medallist Zara Phillips.

THE evening firework concert at Heckington Show on Saturday was another resounding success with more people than ever staying to fill the arena to watch and listen to the sounds of the Sleaford Concert Band, their guest vocalist and the Billinger Ruffs folk band who raised a laugh before rounding off with the War of the Worlds to fireworks.
