Sleaford gymnasts take Championships by storm

Future stars of the gymnastics world were cartwheeling to success after bringing home the gold, silver and bronze medals.

Sleaford Gymnastics Club competed in the Regional Level 4 Championship in Leicester on Sunday October 14, going up against over 40 gymnasts from clubs all over the East Midlands.

The girls from Sleaford competing were Kiesha Almond. Katherine Williamson, Bethan Owen. Sophie Fell and Abigail Salt, and they all performed excellent routines and managed to finish with a large haul of medals.

Abigail, 15, took home the gold medal on floor with an excellent routine and also won the bronze on the beam. Katherine, 14, finished in second position in her age group overall and won the gold medal on vault and also took home the silver on floor.

Sophie, 13 and Bethan, 14 performed excellent routines and finished off in fourth place on floor.

Kiesha also had an excellent competition, winning the gold medal, not just in her age group, but out of 48 gymnasts of all ages. Not content with that, she also brought home the gold on beam and silver on vault.
