VIDEO - Tae kwon do club looking to recruit new members

Anyone looking to get fit or try a new hobby this new year need look no further than their local tae kwon do group.

The Sleaford Tae Kwon Do group is run by Jill Pearce who has more than 30 years experience, with the help of several qualified instructors.

The club first opened in 1995 after the success of clubs run in Newark, Corby Glen and Grantham and as Jill progress through the grades, she decided to run her own club and members are invited to train at any of the above venues at a time that suits them.

She explained: “It’s a great sport and we have a lot of experience to offer, lots of families that train with us and it’s great to see.

“You are not restricted to one time or place, people are so busy they often can’t come to one time slot so I like to be able to offer more than one venue and time.”

The club now offers family sessions, whereby the adults’ classes run simultaneously with children’s classes so that adults don’t need to worry about their children being entertained whilst they participate in their own session.

You don’t have to be extremely fit to start tae kwon do either, as Jill explains: “When people come they think that it is very fast moving, and a lot of people who ring me and say they’ll get fit first, but you don’t need to do that at all.

“We always give them a session suitable for their capabilities and people are welcome to come and watch a session first before joining in.”
