Rob's in the buff for Supersport event
RUSKINGTON racer Rob Frost has returned to contest the British Supersport championship this season.
He will ride for Buff Racing in all rounds that don't have a date clash with the Irish road racing scene, where he is riding for Chris Dowd Racing.
Frost began his challenge at Thruxton on Sunday. Qualifying down in 29th place on the new Team Buff Triumph, he started the 18 lap race from row eight of the grid.
Rob is known for his lightening starts and made up 10 places on the opening lap.
He continued to make steady progress and by lap 12 was up to 12th.
The safety car halted his progress for three laps but once the race got underway again he began to challenge Steven Neate on the Gearlink Kawasaki.
The pair battled it out for the remainder of the race, changing position time and time again until finally Frost ran wide at the chicane allowing Neate to stay ahead.
They were neck and neck as they approached the chequered flag but Neate just beat him across the line by a tenth of a second leaving the Ruskington man in 11th place to pick up five championship points.
