Late try double ends Sleaford’s victory hopes
West Norfolk Under 14s 33
Sleaford RFC Under 14s 17
SLEAFORD knew it would be a difficult match away at West Norfolk.
It was the fourth meeting between the two teams and they had each recorded two wins apiece.
The game started well for Sleaford as they were first to score with a fine try from Elliot Bero.
West Norfolk then pulled one back and a successful conversion gave the home side a 7-5 lead.
With both teams playing well, the action switched from end to end.
The home side increased their advantage with a second try but then two by Ryan Scigala brought Sleaford right back into it, with a conversion by Ben Hitchcock, helping nudge the visitors into a slight lead.
Late in the first half West Norfolk scored again to go in at half time holding a two point advantage with the score at 19-17 in the hosts’ favour.
The pattern of the game remained the same in the second half, with both sides playing some good rugby.
But it was the home side who were to come out on top of this encounter thanks to two late tries, both converted which made the final score 33-17 to West Norfolk.
