SLEAFORD pupils are celebrating after earning the right to be one of the teams representing Lincolnshire at tag rugby.

Sixteen primary schools from around the county, including St Botolph’s School in Quarrington, took part in the Lincolnshire School Games Year Five and Six County Tag finals staged at Sleaford Rugby Club.

The standard of play was very high, with closely fought games throughout the day.

The morning’s play produced four pool winners. As well as St Botolph’s the other winners were Ayscoughee Hall of Spalding, Ingham near Market Rasen, and Uffington near Stamford.

These four teams will all now progress to represent Lincolnshire at the forthcoming Tag to Twickenham Midlands finals at Leicester University, which will be held in the near future.

The games were refereed by Young Leaders from John Spendluffe Technology College, Alford.
