Under 15s overpower Kesteven

Sleaford Under 15s 52

Kesteven Under 15s 7

The early exchanges of this game were let down by poor handling but early pressure from the scrum saw Kesteven give away a penalty.

An early take from Charlie Simmons gave Kieran Wakelin the chance to drive through the Kesteven defence for Sleaford’s first try, with Ben Hitchcock adding the conversion to make it 7-0

Sleaford extended their lead through Oliver Brown and another conversion took the score to 14-0.

More pressure from Sleaford saw Miloe Williamson go over for another forward try. Then a loose pass from Kesteven was intercepted by Sam Cheek and the ball passed down the line, setting up Ryan Scigala for his first try of the season. Hitchcock converted to put Sleaford 26-0 ahead.

For the second half Sleaford made a number of substitutions and initially play was a little scrappy and disjointed.

Connor Todd added to the home side’s points tally, going in at the corner.

Sleaford started to gel again later in the game and pressure on the Kesteven back line resulted in a number of handling errors. From one of these Brown ran in for his second try.

A kick by Hitchcock from his own 22 was not dealt with by the Kesteven defence and Bradley Roberts picked up, shrugged off three tackles and scored under the posts.

Kesteven added a consolation try before the final lineout of the game saw Wakelin go over for his second score. Hitchcok added his fifth conversion to make the final score 52-7.
