Seven wickets for Sears but rain calls a halt to game

Readers Lincolnshire ECB Premier League SLEAFORD'S Alex Sears took seven wickets as Bracebridge Heath were all out for 166 on Saturday but his efforts were to no avail as weather curtailed the game.

When rain stopped play with six overs to go, Sleaford were struggling on 102 for eight, as Matt Bradley and George Neal each claimed three wickets for the defending champions, who have moved up to third in the table.

Fahad Masood took his total of wickets for the season to 52 as Bourne consolidated their lead at the top of the Readers Lincolnshire ECB Premier League table with an eight wicket win over third placed Nettleham, who, as a result, dropped to fourth.

Masood took six for 21 as the Lincoln side were bowled out for just 76 and, with six matches to go, now has the league record of 68 in his sights.

Bourne have opened up a gap over second placed Skegness, who won at Hartsholme but picked up only 15 points after the home side recovered from 10 for four to hang on to their last wicket and finish their innings on 137 for nine, a total the seasiders overtook for the loss of five wickets.

The game at Boston also brought a seven wicket haul for skipper Paul Timby as Grimsby were bowled out for 210.

The home side then battled to 158 for eight giving them a total of 10 points and opening up the gap on bottom side Hartsholme.

Market Deeping celebrated their second win in successive weeks in the tightest match of the day at Woodhall Spa.

Andrew took five wickets as Woodhall were bowled out for 150 but Matt Haslam was also on form, claiming six Deeping victims before the visitors edged to a one wicket victory.

The highest and lowest scores of the day came at Lindum where the home side were bowled out for 226 in the 50th over only to see Louth dig in and make just 82 for nine off their 50 overs.
