The vagaries of both the weather and the fixture list meant Sleaford Cricket Club played only one fixture at the weekend when the Academy team went down to a 44-run defeat at Cherry Willingham in Lincoln League Division Three.

Fielding first after losing the toss, Sleaford Academy, sponsored by Turnbulls, saw their hosts total 160-5 from the allotted 40 overs, with Ben Hutson and Kurt Colyn sharing the wickets.

In reply, Sleaford never really threatened the required total, despite an undefeated 41 from Harbron, and eventually succumbed to a convincing defeat.
