Sleaford CC’s Second XI consolidated second place in the South Lincs and Border Premier League after defeating Woodhall Seconds by 99 runs.

Sleaford posted a commanding total of 321-5 thanks largely to Simon Godby (118) and Sumit Puri (68).

Together added 162 for the second wicket before captain Ben Bulmer hit a quickfire 62 in only 34 balls.

Woodhall never really threatened the Sleaford total and eventually closed on 222-5, Tom Brooke taking three wickets.

This victory leaves Sleaford 11 points in front of their nearest rivals with a game in hand.

The Sunday First XI, sponsored by Specsavers, were victorious at Morton whilst the Academy, sponsored by Turnbulls, were thwarted by the weather after making a start at Woodhall.
