Time to nominate our local sports stars

WHO is the best sportsman or woman, boy or girl in the Sleaford area? Which team has enjoyed the greatest success in 2012?

The search is on to find the top sporting stars of the year.

Once again we are seeking nominatons for the annual Sleaford Standard Sports Awards.

There are eight classifications: Sportsman of the Year (Solo Club Trophy); Sportswoman of the Year (Elite Trophy); Junior Sportsperson of the Year - Boys (Sporting Lincs Trophy); Junior Sportsperson of the Year - Girls (Keith Dolby Trophy); Team of the Year (Elite Trophy); Special Award for Sporting Endeavour (Pygott and Crone Trophy); Service to Sport Award (Four Seasons Trophy); Club of the Year (Turnbull’s Trophy).

So who do you know that has achieved remarkable success in sport during the year? It could be someone who has battled against the odds to come out on top or shown such dedication and commitment to their sport they are deserving of recognition. You may wish to nominate a team which has conquered all before them.

Whatever the sport, there are always players and competitors worthy of praise. The Standard wants to reward and recognise those people.

To obtain a nomination form call in at the Sleaford Standard, 28 Handley Street, Sleaford or telephone 01529 413646.
