Wins for Billingborough and Sleaford

South Lincolnshire and Border League

SPALDING marched on at the top of South Lincolnshire & Border League Division One following their huge victory over Bourne 2nd.

The Kearns family had a good day as Spalding rattled up the day’s highest total of 286 for six, Mike Kearns snr falling just four short of a century while son Charlie took six wickets for 18 runs as Bourne were bowled out for just 38.

One player who did pass the 100 mark was Chris Morris of Sleaford in his side’s win over Woodhall Spa 2nd.

Defending champions Billingborough also failed to pick up maximum batting points after being bowled out by Moulton Harrox for 162. Moulton then made only 87, with David Gollop taking five for 19. For full report on this game see the back page.

In Division Two, Tim Dyer took five wickets for six runs to help Baston to a five wicket win over Heckington but Blankney, promoted with Baston, went down by five wickets to Welby.

Lindum Academy continued their good start to life in Division Three with a four wicket win over Pinchbeck while fellow newcomers Friskney beat Spalding 3rd by five wickets.
