THRILLSEEKERS spent their Bank Holiday jumping from great heights, Zorbing and cricketing.
Billingborough’s Cricket Club Family Fun Day took place on Bank Holiday Monday and packed out the village playing field with hundreds of visitors from far and wide.
The various car parks in the village were full to the brim as the attendance figures tripled on last year and organiser Dave Newman hailed the event a ‘massive success’.
This year one of the biggest attractions was a 175ft static bungee jump, which tempted 43 brave leapers to take part and raise money for disability charity Whizz Kidz and it is hoped that more than £1,000 was raised by the jumpers.
Also running during the day was a dog show by the UK German Shepherd Rescue group, as well as Zorbing walkers, a climbing wall, inflatable ‘gladiator’ games and bungee runs for children.
A six-a-side cricket match was won by a team from the Chilli Hut in Sleaford, who emerged the victors out of six competing teams.
Dave added: “The event was a massive improvement on last year and we are already making plans for next year’s event. If anyone wants to talk to me about running a stall or activity next year, they can contact me on 07954 908234.”
There is a possibility that next year’s event may be a joint venture with Swaton Vintage Day’s committee.
