Members of the community were invited to help celebrate a Muslim festival last Monday with a feast of Indian food for all to try.
St Denys’ Church Hall, in Sleaford, played host to the celebration of Eid-al-Adha, the second of two religious holidays celebrated by Muslims worldwide each year.
Everyone was invited to take part, and help organise the event and the food was donated by India Garden – with guests from all over the area such as Billinghay, Woodhall Spa, Boston and Skegness.
The Mayor of Sleaford Brian Watson attended the event with a number of other dignitaries.
Turon Miah, who is also a member of Metheringham Parish Council, said: “By carrying out this event, we’re trying to create a community – not just Asian and Muslim, but one that involves everyone.”
