The third concert in Sleaford Music Club’s 2013/14 season will feature a second visit by the violin and harpsichord pairing of Duo Dorado.
Duo Dorado is made up of violinist Hazel Brooks and David Pollock on harpsichord and they will be performing at the Civic Suite of NKDC’s offices on Eastgate, Sleaford, on Friday, December 13.
Duo Dorado was formed in 1999 when Hazel and David discovered a shared passion for the baroque repertoire for obligato harpsichord and violin.
The immediate success of the duo encouraged them to go on to explore the rich repertoire for violin and basso continuo, developing interpretations which highlight how successful this music can be with no more on the bass line than a richly resonant harpsichord.
The duo has appeared extensively across the UK and also abroad, and has been praised for its dynamic presentation of a wide spectrum of music from established classics to that which is almost completely unknown. They have released three CDs which reflect this range of music. Their programme will include music by Corelli, Handel, Bach and Vivaldi. Their performances are also visually interesting as their beautifully decorated harpsichord forms a stunning centrepiece.
The concert starts at 7.30pm. Admission is £10 (£9 conc). All are welcome. For details: 01529 304389.
