TWENTY five years after her death Wallis Simpson remains one of the most glamorous and vilified women of the last century.
Now you can find out more about her at a lecture to be given by Anne Sebba, author of That Woman, the first full scale biography written by a woman about the Duchess of Windsor, the former Mrs Simpson.
Her lecture, entitled The Life of Wallis Simpson Duchess of Windsor, will be given at the British Red Cross, Unity House, 22 Tollemache Road (South), Spittlegate Level, Grantham on Thursday, September 6. There are drinks and canapes at 7pm and the lecture starts at 7.45pm.
Anne’s book, That Woman, explores the mind and motivations of this enigmatic American divorcee. The book is based on new archives, interviews and material only recently discovered by the author.
The author is one of Britain’s most distinguished biographers. She has written eight works of non-fiction mostly about iconic women. Wallis, Duchess of Windsor is now the subject of a high profile feature film directed by Madonna and starring Andrea Riseborough as Wallis and James D’Arcy as Edward.
