FOLK band Horizontal Sunday, which features a former Digby man, will be playing a homecoming tour of his old stomping ground.

Dave Gray and bandmates Rebecca Nice, from the Isle of Skye and Sarah Dorward, from Dundee, are embarking on a mini tour of the county next week.

Dave was well known in Digby for playing the melodeon in his childhood, and the final leg of his tour will see him in his boyhood village.

All three members of the band are graduates of the Folk and Traditional Degree course at Newcastle University.

They play a wide variety of traditional and self-penned folk music on melodeon, fiddle and clàrsach (harp) and their new album, It’s Complicated, is available now.

Horizontal Sunday are appearing at Spalding Folk Club in the South Holland Centre and then the Barn at Baston, near Bourne before playing their final gig in Dave’s home village of Digby on Saturday June 9 at 7pm.

Tickets for the event cost £3 which includes tea and home-made cakes, available by calling 01526 320695 or on the door.
