Heckington Players are busy rehearsing for this year’s pantomime, Jack and the Beanstalk, and it is promising to be another fabulous show.
Back to direct his own original script is Kei Bailey, who will be joined by Steph Leighton who has decided to rise to the challenge of co-directing after many years of appearing on stage.
Andrew Key is preparing to step into the Dame’s shoes once again, with Debbie Savage returning to choreograph her fourth pantomime and Oliver Guilliatt playing the part of Jack in his first Heckington panto.
In Heckington’s adaptation of the well-loved story, Jack and his mum, Dame Trott, work in a newsroom at Sunshine TV Studios. Unfortunately, when one of her forecasts gets out of hand, weather girl Dame Trott and Jack are sacked and soon find themselves unable to pay the local giant’s protection tax.
Faced with the prospect of appearing on the giant’s next dinner menu, they have no other choice than to sell their beloved pet cow, Daisy.
With sparkling sets, colourful costumes, delightful dance routines and hilarious performances, this promises to be a must-see show for all the family.
