THIS weekend sees the return of the Sleaford and District Round Table’s Oktoberfest.
The German style beer festival is being staged for a second time at Sleaford Rugby Club on Friday evening (6pm to midnight) and throughout Saturday afternoon and evening (12noon to midnight).
Raising money for the group’s charitable efforts anyone can join in a great night’s entertainment in a heated marquee with live music from six live acts, beers and ciders from Lincolnshire and neighbouring counties - around 40 real ales such as Bateman’s, Sleaford Brewery and Adnam’s of Southwold, 15 ciders, European beers plus a standard bar. The live acts will be: Henry Scott, Blind Wives, The Freefall, Temallica, Ultra 90s, The Move-ons and Bear Makes Ninja.
The Saturday afternoon sees a family fun day with children’s play area until 6pm, bouncy castles, traditional German oompah band Die Apfeltizers and dancing by Boston Grammar School’s Schuhplattlergruppe Bavarian dance troupe at 2.30pm, plus more live music from 10 live acts from 3.30pm, barbecue food and beer. Live music will be from: Ali Levings, The Substitutes, The Moll Grips, Early Birds, IzenGard, I Call Shotgun, Kill The Ideal, Glass Onion, The Forever Test and The Four Tarantinos.
