Sights for soar eyes in display

The display, entitled Training Aircraft at Cranwell, will give visitors more information about the centre’s lengthy history as a training school.

Visitors will be able to find out about how various aircraft have developed over the years, so keen plane enthusiasts should not miss out.

Training Aircraft at Cranwell has been inspired by a successful exhibitation earlier this year, which celebrated RAF Cranwell opening as an air station 100 years ago.

The celebratory exhibition attracted more than 300 visitors across its three days, and the exhibition had to be extended due to its popularity.

Angela Riley, heritage assistant at the centre, said: “Cranwell has such an extensive history.

“There are nearly 40 aircraft that have flown at Cranwell, all with fascinating facts which visitors will be able to explore while enjoying the display.”

The display is open to the public from Saturday to March 26, with normal admission hours from 10am to 4pm.
