The next Music Train on the Sleaford to Skegness Poacher Line will be full of Christmas cheer.

The monthly Music Trains provide an unusual venue for live acts, stopping off at Bateman’s Brewey, in Wainfleet, for refreshments before completing the return journey.

On Thursday, December 18, an evening of Christmas carolling will be accompanied by musicians from the Lincoln Beevor Band.

The group is a teaching band that aims to give people the chance to learn to play a brass instrument with minimal financial outlay.

They perform at public and private engagements around Lincoln and the surrounding villages.

The Music Train departs Sleaford station at 6.55pm, Heckington at 7.02pm, and Boston at 7.21pm for travel to Batemans Brewery.

Revellers catch the return train from Wainfleet at 9.10pm to arrive back in Boston at 9.35pm, Heckington at 9.51pm, and Sleaford at 10pm.

Scheduled service trains are used for the Music Train events. A normal rail ticket is all that is required for the journey and concert (current train fares apply) and can be purchased as usual from stations or from the conductor on the train. Passengers can take advantage of GroupSave ticket availability.

Dates for the Music Train events in 2015 will be available soon.
