A Sleaford firm was under the BBC spotlight last week when it featured in an episode of Watchdog which focused on safe vehicle repair.

AW Repair Group was recently contacted by the British Standard Institute to ensure consumers were aware of the automotive industry standards explored in last Monday’s broadcast (March 16) of BBC Watchdog test house.

Managing director of AW Repair Group Andrew Walsh said: “We were privileged to be asked by BSI to take part in the BBC programme because, although this is not mandatory by law, we want our customers to feel confident that we are delivering precise and safe repairs every time.”

He said the vehicle repair sector is not regulated by law but said bodyshops could choose to subscribe to the BSI, which
regularly carries out audits to ensure
vehicles are repaired in the way in which the manufacturer and safety methods
approve.
