FAMILIES are invited to get egg-stra creative this Easter holidays as the Sleaford branch of national travel agent Thomas Cook launches a specially themed competition to promote their new advertising campaign.
The holiday firm’s new campaign slogan is, “It’s a wonderful world. Explore it with us,” and to promote this new theme all Thomas Cook shops in the region are running events to heighten their profile.
The branch, based in Bristol Arcade, has teamed up with the Sleaford Standard to offer prizes for an Easter egg decorating competition with a sporty theme to highlight their current deals for visiting the 2012 Olympic Games in London this summer. These include one night hotel bed and full breakfast stay packages from £99 per person including event tickets. The £99 deal is based on two sharing and comes with tickets to watch the Olympic volleyball. There are other one and two night packages to see other sports too.
When designing your egg, let your imagination go wild. Use a hard boiled or ‘blown’ egg (or eggs) then decorate them on a sporty theme. It could be a rower, runner, weightlifter or anything else, go as mad as you like. Kids can get their families to help too. There will be bronze, silver and gold chocolate Thornton’s eggs (worth £15, £10 and £5) as prizes to keep with the sporting theme, for the best three judged by Thomas Cook staff.
Local schools have been contacted to remind children to bring in their eggs along with the coupon cut from this page including their name, age, address and contact details to the Thomas Cook store in Sleaford before the closing date.
Readers can bring their decorated eggs with entry coupons into store between now and Thursday April 5.
The prize winning entries for the most original and imaginative designs will be announced in the April 11 edition and prize winners will be contacted.
