A Celtic folk band based in Sleaford join Billy Bragg as among the acts playing The Great British Folk Festival in Skegness this week.
The Band From County Hell will be playing a 50-minute set on the main stage at the three-day event, which runs from this Friday at the town’s Butlin’s resort.
They were invited last year to play the festival’s Introducing Stage with 46 other new bands from around the UK.
To return to the event, an act has to win the public vote for the best performance on the Introducing Stage and The Band From County Hell were last year’s winners.
Steven McLelland, from the band, said: “We were surprised and overwhelmed to find out that we had won the vote.
“We knew the set had gone down well, but our original music is a little different from a lot of the music that was being played at the festival.
“We are looking forward to our return and are going again to give our very best.”
The band this month are being featured in national music magazine R2 with a song from their sixth original album, Late Lost Souls, being included on an accompanying CD.
