Sarah Poole, a country and bluesy gospel singer/songwriter from Leicestershire, is giving a concert at the Ruskington Methodist Church.
From heartfelt country love songs, self-penned lullabies to tales from the road, Sarah Poole will take you on a journey of life, love, loss and faith.
Drawing from a well of experience, each song reflects aspects of her eventful life. Delivered in her own inimitable style, she’ll have you laughing while leaving you pondering song lyrics long after her voice has left your ears.
Sarah has been performing her own material in addition to well-chosen covers for the past four years. Her song ‘Two Hearts’ was one of 12 chosen to appear on Sunday Night Live’s album in 2011. In the following years she produced two more mini-albums in Derbyshire.
Many of her songs reflect and encompass something of her transformational journey with God which began in 1997 where she said: “I was living in a shed whilst learning the guitar, drinking too much and without any hope or direction. In 2001 I was miraculously healed from depression and it is a testimony to God that I can get up and sing in front of anyone, as I had a crippling shyness from childhood.”
The concert is on October 22 at 7.30pm. Admission is free (retiring collection).
