A French-based blues band will be appearing at South Kyme for a gig on Friday night.

Formed in 1991, the English duo Rag Mama Rag have built up their reputation as one of Europe’s finest Country Blues acts. Ashley Dow on a variety of guitars, ukulele and vocals and Deborah Dow on harmonica, washboard, percussion and backing vocals soon have audience’s feet tapping.

Rag Mama Rag have a varied repertoire including 1920s and 30s blues, encompassing Mississippi Blues, East Coast Ragtime sounds, early White Country tunes, from the 20s and 30s period.

They have played at many major festivals in Europe and beyond and will be at South Kyme Coronation Hall from 7.30pm.

○ Sleaford Music Club’s fifth concert of the season will feature Douglas Hollick performing at The Civic Suite of North Kesteven District Council in Eastgate, Sleaford from 7.30pm on Friday.

With an international reputation as an organist and harpsichordist, Douglas Hollick will be playing his own 1989 copy of a French harpsichord of 1711 by Pierre Donzelague of Lyons. His programme will include Bachs’s Goldberg Variations.
