The next Sleaford to Wainfleet Music Train will be setting off on Thursday, May 7.

The Music Trains provide an unusual venue for a variety of live music acts on normal scheduled service trains using a normal rail ticket for the journey that can be purchased as usual from stations or the conductor.

This will be a Sleaford Live festival event featuring the Sleaford Ukulele Orchestra playing everything from Johnny Cash to Labi Siffre, The Beatles to Beethoven, and Elvis to Enya.

The train departs Sleaford Station at 6.55pm and Heckington at 7.02pm for travel to Batemans Brewery for a drink at the Windmill Bar. Revellers catch the return train from Wainfleet at 9.10pm to arrive back in Heckington at 9.51pm and Sleaford at 10pm.

○ St Andrew’s Church in Heckington will host an evening with the Market Rasen Brass Band on Saturday, May 9.

The band will perform music from the musicals and films, starting at 7pm.

Tickets are £10, including buffet supper, from 01529 460272 or 01529 460977.
