Take a trip back in time and see iron working in a traditional Victorian forge at an event near Sleaford this weekend.
Welbourn Forge, in The Green, Welbourn, will next year once again be holding its regular demonstration day events.
These will, as before, take place on the first Saturday of the month.
The former forge and blacksmith’s workshop dates back to 1864 - just under halfway through Queen Victoria’s time on the throne - and is still in working condition.
For more than 100 years Welbourn Forge has served the needs of farmers and tradesmen in and around the village.
In addition to its openings on the first Saturday of the month, the attraction now offers a number of exhibits to visitors.
These include old photographs, displays, and memorabilia, along with a restored earth privy.
Saturday’s event opens at 10am and continues through to 1pm.
For more information about what visitors can expect on the day contact North Kesteven District Council by calling 01529 308102.
