Auditions time for pantomimes

HECKINGTON Players will be staging their next pantomime, Jack and the Beanstalk in January 2013.

With Kei Bailey back to write the script especially for the Players, the production promises to be as magical, exciting and outrageously funny as ever.

As usual he will put his own unique twist on this well-known story of a young lad called Jack who sells his cow for a handful of beans, and he will bring us yet another cast of colourful characters including Dame Trott, Simple Simon, Daisy the Cow and Fleshcreep the Giant’s villainous henchman.

Open auditions will take place on Friday September 14 at 7.30pm in Heckington Village Hall, so if you are interested in performing in this year’s show contact Kei on 07813 113230 for more details. Everyone is welcome but Heckington Players are especially interested in hearing from young adults in their late teens and early twenties as there are a number of roles in the production for this age group.

* Meanwhile pantomime auditions for Metheringham Amateur Dramatics group are being held in Metheringham village hall on Sunday September 9 at 2pm. People are required to tread the boards, as well as for stage management, stage crew, lighting, sound, costume design, set design, set building and costume making. Everyone is welcome to try their hand. Contact Darren Hawbrook (Tel: 07958 696694).
