Get a taste for adventure and ascend some of the most dramatic peaks around the UK with Sleaford Mountaineering Club.
Now in its seventh year, the club has just released it schedule for 2016 – with plans to tackle terrain in Wales, the Lake District, Peak District and Scotland.
The club has planned at least one full weekend away each month, a Saturday walk each month and, when the summer comes, some evening walks around the local Sleaford area.
Although members of the club are keen walkers, climbers and mountain bikers, other activities such as kayaking and canoeing have found their way into the plans in previous years.
Club founder Andrew Pritchard said: “We do get up to quite a bit each year. So long as mountains are involved – even just a little bit – we’ll be there.
“We feel so sorry for the people in the Lake District at the moment as the areas affected by the recent flooding are very well known to us.”
Sleaford Mountaineering Club meets every Thursday at The Packhorse from 9pm.
