The green-fingered owner of a petrol station has been drawing admiring glancings from passing motorists for his floral display.
Mohammed Bari sold up his petrol station in London to take over the Gulf filling station at East Heckington in July last year.
He explained: “I have loved gardening from childhood - it is my passion. I don’t like looking at concrete so wherever I see spare land, I plant it.”
This spring he planted flowers on the land in front of his business as an antedote to the stark concrete and illuminated canopy. Busy tending his blooms whenever he has a spare moment, he said: “My customers appreciate it and give me tips, so I get more and more motivated. Next year I will plant up the land at the back of the shop too.”
