For those who may have decided that 2015 is the year to get fitter, what better way to burn off a few calories while enjoying yourself with friends or family than a scenic walk in your own local countryside.
Whether you’re a fair-weather walker or not, there is no better way to experience Lincolnshire’s beautiful countryside.
Walking is often much underrated as a form of exercise but it is ideal for people of all ages and fitness levels who want to be more active; and it’s also free!
North Kesteven is privileged to have a variety of landscapes, ancient woodlands, historic buildings and charming villages.
The district encompasses a distinctive and fascinating history woven into the landscape; from the sites of Roman waterways and medieval castles, to the airfields of the Royal Air Force past and present.
In order for everyone to enjoy what the district has to offer, there are a number of pre-designed walks available throughout the district in various locations varying in distance from walk to walk. These are known as the Stepping Out Network and have been carefully chosen to bring the district’s unique heritage to life with accessible routes ranging from less than three miles to 9 miles - there is a walk for everyone to go Stepping Out.
All the walks have been developed into an easy to read booklet with step by step directions to help you along your way which are available to download from www.countrysidenk.co.uk.
