Abstract art is the theme of an exhibition of paintings, poetry and prose which is currently being shown at the Carre Gallery in Sleaford.
The gallery has teamed up with the Sleaford Hub Writers to support the Sleaford Live Festival of Music and Arts, which opened on Friday and continues until this coming Sunday.
This collaborative exhibition has been inspired by the remarkable record set at Sotheby’s February auction when an abstract painting by Gerhard Richter achieved a remarkable price of over £30 million, a world record for any painting by a living European artist.
The exhibition at the Carre Gallery features the work of local artists, with poetry and prose from the Sleaford Hub Writers group.
The Hub Writers have created individual stories and poems for the exhibits, and these will be displayed with the artwork during Sleaford Live week.
The exhibition, which opened on Friday, runs until Saturday.
The gallery is open 10am–4pm, Monday to Saturday.
