Staff at the Order of St John Care Trust’s headquarters in Wellingore became elves for the day in aid of the Alzheimer’s Society.
Everyone dressed up for Elf Day, which included selling tickets for a lunchtime screening of the film Elf, along with a festive cupcake sale, Name The Elf and Guess The Number of Candy Canes games.
Lisa Lawlor, who co-ordinated the event, said they sold at least 25 tickets to the movie as well as hot dogs, pop corn and fizzy drinks to make extra funds. She said Elf Day is a nationwide campaign promoted by the Alzheimer’s Society which has been backed by Elf the musical, being staged in London. She said: “We specialise in dementia care in our homes and work very closely with the Society, so it is a cause very close to our hearts.”
She thanked Party Planet for donating all the balloons.
