A relatively new entrepreneur is among those nominated for Business of the Year in the Sleaford Town Awards.
Danielle Goodwin moved Perfectly Polished to a new unit in Millstream Square in town only last August having been operating from home.
Opting to go self employed a year earlier, she had previously worked for two-and-a-half years for a local hairdressing salon having undergone training before that.
Beautician Danielle, 30, is capable of handling hair, make-up, nails and waxing, saying: “I am always expanding and learning new things - I just love this industry.
“The hairdressing salon I used to work for just did hair and I wanted to do nails as well. I love to do nail art and so while I am still young I wanted to give it a go on my own.”
Danielle shares the building with an associate who does massage upstairs, while she works downstairs.
She said: “Things have been going amazingly well. I cannot thank people enough. I always seem to be fully booked, with very few gaps each day.
“Eventually we would like to open somewhere bigger and have a few staff between us.”
Appointments can range in length depending on what service she is providing, with nails the most popular.
She said: “I have had people ask for Minions on their nails and all sorts of tricky designs, but I am always willing to give anything a go.”
She will often open late on week nights, explaining: “People come and relax after work as a way to end the day nicely.”
