District prepares as county set to be target for tourists

National newspaper The Sunday Mirror has put Lincolnshire in third place as a must-go location for 2015, behind America’s Deep South and Morocco – highlighting Lincoln as particularly important with its extensive 800th anniversary celebrations for Magna Carta and re-opening the revamped castle.

But with there being so much more to Lincolnshire, the DiscoverNK team is advising travellers to step beyond the city to discover the many delights of North Kesteven such as its historic mills and walking trails.

The International Bomber Command Centre iconic Spire Memorial will be in place at Canwick Hill by June, and this year RAF Cranwell marks its centenary as a station.

District Council leader, Coun Marion Brighton, said: “We are thrilled Lincolnshire has made it onto this list of top travel destinations for 2015, as it recognises the county as both a holiday destination and an area with a significant historical contribution.”
