The latest monthly figures for the number of people claiming Jobseeker’s Allowance (JSA) by local authority have been published this morning (Wednesday).
In this part of the country, it reveals a rise for Boston and North Kesteven, but a fall for East Lindsey.
The new counts (which relate to August) are as follows, with the previous month’s tallies in brackets:
- Boston - 587 (544)
- East Lindsey - 1,146 (1,271)
- North Kesteven - 654 (636)
Boston and North Kesteven’s rises are the first for the authorities since February.
East Lindsey’s drop, which is in line with seasonal trends, is the seventh monthly fall in a row for the district.
