Sleaford Town Team was launched a little over a month ago with the aim of boosting the town’s economy and footfall while improving the shopping and leisure experience for locals and visitors.
With the January sales just around the corner, Clare Rayner, chairman of Sleaford Town Team, commented: “Although most people will be chasing the discounts found in our chain stores, it’s important that we don’t forget our independent retailers during the sales period.
“They’re the ones that make our town so unique and you’re likely to get a much better shopping experience when you make your purchases from them – and you can get a great cup of coffee from our independent cafés if you need some more energy.”
The Town Team’s top tips for parking: first hour free on Eastgate car park and then free from 6pm; three hours’ free parking at Tesco; up to two hours free at Sainsbury’s if you spend £5 in-store; first two hours free at Station Road.
Sleaford Town Team are hosting a New Year’s Eve Warm-Up at the Masonic Rooms on Watergate, from 5-9pm on December 31. The event is completely free and party-goers will receive a free glass of bubbly on entry as well as canapés and great company. Eddie Jenkins, action group leader for evening and night-time economy, commented: “The New Year’s Eve Warm-Up party is about raising a glass to the people of Sleaford who help to make our town what it is, and to toast their ongoing success throughout 2015. Start your New Year’s Eve celebrations with the community and enjoy a free drink on us.”
