Sleaford Town Team, the group set up late last year with a view to boost Sleaford’s value, has held its first official members’ meeting.
The event was held on Tuesday evening at the Solo Club, in Market Street.
Unlike future members’ meetings (see www.facebook.com/sleafordtownteam for dates, Tuesday’s meeting was open to all residents and business.
It included an introduction to the team and a brainstorming session to generate ideas for Sleaford’s future.
Sleaford Town Team member Clare Rayner said in the wake of Tesco’s announcement to shelve plans for a new store in Sleaford the group had grown in relevance.
She said: “It’s down to us, the local business-owners, the local residents, and all those passionate about the town to really contribute to that grassroots business-led regeneration and, to pardon the pun, I think it’s very true to say ‘every little helps’.”
