Another fundraising charity night is planned in memory of a young Sleaford barman who died last year.
Danny Cahn died aged 24 in September, leaving wife Marie, 32, and children Evie, aged five, and Riley, two. He had only been diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic lymphoma 16 weeks before.
On his death, Marie decided to fundraise for Leukaemia CARE and the hospital where he was treated. She said: “I just wanted to do something to keep his memory alive and for a cause that is very close to my heart because it is such a horrible disease.”
Dan worked behind the bar at the Barge and Bottle where Marie staged the first charity night in November featuring two local bands, an auction and raffle.
She is now holding another charity event to take place on Monday and Tuesday February 1-2 at the India Garden restaurant in Sleaford Market Place, from 6pm till 11pm.
Marie said: “The India Garden have kindly agreed to hold the charity event to help raise much needed money for Leukaemia CARE to held people and families affected by this awful illness.
“They are having a set menu which is £20 per head with £10 of this going directly to Leukaemia CARE.
“There will also be a small raffle which will be drawn on Tuesday February 2.”
