Sleaford and District Civic Trust is launching its annual awards for excellence in local building and improvement projects and inviting nominations.
The Trust seeks projects that “contribute positively” to the built environment of the town and nearby villages.
Previous recipients of Civic Trust awards bear a plaque, now a familiar sight around the town, or receive a certificate where a plaque is unsuitable.
Smaller schemes may receive a letter of commendation instead.
Eligible projects include new buildings, extensions and remodelling of existing buildings or other improvements, explains Trust Secretary Sheena Gordon.
The Trust will accept projects completed since the 2013 awards were made and nominations should be by letter to Mrs Sheena Gordon, 7 The Pines, Boston Road, Sleaford, Lincs, NG34 7DN, giving as much relevant detail as possible and offering evidence in support of the project.
Last year’s award winner was the Sleaford Leisure Centre refurbishment project.
The Trust also invites nominations for its Mess of the Year award, for the worst eyesores around the town. Sometimes such schemes have later gone on to win commendations when restored.
Deadline for nominations is January 31 2015.
