Residents keen to show their support for the Queen’s 90th birthday by picking up litter around their town are in with a chance to win prizes.

Sleaford Town Team are co-ordinating community clean up efforts for the Queen’s birthday around the town from Friday to Sunday and inviting volunteers to sign up to help. Visit here.

No matter which activity you have signed up for, they have some fantastic prizes up for grabs including several chocolate treats (please dispose of the packaging sensibly!)

Plus from their headline sponsor, Mountain Skip Hire, there are ten £10 off skip hire vouchers (which will be given out to contributors on the day) and a top prize of a free skip hire voucher worth over £120.

Whether you’re involved in the official clean up events or simply tidying your back garden, the Town Team and the Sleaford Standard would love to see your “Clean for The Queen” pictures on their Facebook pages too.

You could photograph: before and after clean up, biggest or most unusual rubbish and funniest pose while collecting, or whatever made you happy while doing your bit.

* The Sleaford in Bloom team will be litter picking along the Rauceby Banks project area beyond West Banks (and possibly continuing to the Cut, East Banks later on) in their Clean for the Queen effort.

Starting time is 1pm on Saturday and they expect to finish by 3.30pm. Volunteers welcome but contact Becky Mayfield for details via or 01529 305186.
