A former Ruskington man has been jailed for three years for a string of burglaries in the village.

James Alan Preston, 22, who was at that time already being held in Lincoln Prison, pleaded guilty at Lincoln Crown Court on Friday to a series of burglaries in Ruskington which took place earlier in the year in February and March.

According to a Lincolnshire Police spokesman, Judge Rafferty considered victim statements including from one couple who felt compelled to move from their home of over 50 years after their experience of burglary at the hands of Preston. He was sentenced to three years imprisonment.
